Privacy Policy
Last updated November 8, 2026. LyteLoad is made by LyteVision Studios (contact: lytevisionstudios@gmail.com).
LyteLoad is a desktop app for photographers, videographers and production companies. It backs up camera cards, files them into folders, uploads them to the cloud storage you choose, sends the emails you set up and drafts invoices. This page explains what information LyteLoad uses and where it goes.
The short version
- Your photos, videos and audio stay on your own drives and in the Dropbox or Google Drive you connect. They are never sent to LyteLoad's servers.
- Sign-ins you give LyteLoad (Google, iCloud, Dropbox, email) are kept on your own computer, not on LyteLoad's servers.
- LyteLoad does not sell your information, does not show ads and does not use your data to train AI models.
Information that stays on your computer
LyteLoad runs on your computer. Your card files, backup folders, company and client settings, shoot history and invoices are stored there. LyteLoad reads your camera cards only to copy and verify them. If you use a LyteLoad account, the phone app or a company Team, some shoot details are also saved on LyteLoad's servers, as described below.
Google account information
If you choose Sign in with Google, LyteLoad asks Google for permission to:
- See your name and email address - to fill in your name and email in LyteLoad's setup.
- See your Google Calendar - to match each camera card to the shoot on your calendar when the files were recorded, and to show upcoming shoots.
- Add shoots to your Google Calendar - when you create a shoot in LyteLoad and choose to add it to your calendar, LyteLoad adds that event and keeps it up to date. LyteLoad does not change or delete any other events on your calendar.
- Send email as you (send only) - to send the emails you turn on in LyteLoad, such as "files are ready" messages to your clients and your invoices and billing summaries. LyteLoad cannot read, search or delete the email in your inbox.
LyteLoad uses this Google data only to provide these features. Your Google sign-in, your calendar and your email stay on your computer and are not sent to LyteLoad's servers, with one exception: a shoot's name often comes from your calendar event's title, and if you use a LyteLoad account, the phone app or a company Team, that shoot name is saved with your shoot history so you can see it on your other devices (and, for a Team, so the company you shoot for can see its own shoots). Google data is not shared with anyone else, not sold, not used for advertising or to train AI models, and not read by people at LyteVision Studios unless you send it to us when asking for help. You can remove LyteLoad's access at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
LyteLoad's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Other accounts you connect
When you connect iCloud Calendar, Dropbox or Google Drive, or an email account with an app password, LyteLoad uses that access only to read your calendar, upload the shoots you choose to the folders you choose, or send the emails you set up. Those sign-ins are stored on your computer. Uploads go directly from your computer to that service.
Information LyteLoad's servers receive
- License and updates: your license key, a random ID for each computer, the computer's name, its operating system, the LyteLoad version and when it last checked in.
- LyteLoad account (if you create one): your email address, your name, and a scrambled (hashed) version of your password - never the password itself.
- Shoot history (if you sign in to a LyteLoad account): details of each shoot you back up - shoot and client names, dates and times, file counts, which drives and folders it went to, upload, email and invoice status, and any notes and client contact details you entered - so your history is the same on every computer and phone you use. You choose how long it's kept, from 30 days to forever, in Settings.
- Company Teams (if you shoot for a company that uses LyteLoad Team): the same shoot details for that company's shoots, which the company's owners can see.
- Phone app (if you turn it on): a short summary of what LyteLoad is doing - shoot names, backup and upload progress, free space on your backup drive, billing status and your recent notifications - so you can see it on your phone, plus the requests you send from your phone. Only you can see it.
- Phone notifications (if you turn them on): the push address Apple or Google gives your phone, so LyteLoad can send it notifications.
- Support logs (only when you click Send logs): LyteLoad's activity log, sent from your own email to us so we can help.
LyteLoad's servers run on Cloudflare. LyteLoad's own account emails, like sign-in codes, are sent through Resend. Phone notifications are delivered by Apple's and Google's push services. We keep this information while your license or account is active, and shoot history only as long as you choose.
Your choices
You can disconnect any account in LyteLoad's Setup, remove Google's access at the link above, or uninstall LyteLoad, which removes it from your computer. To delete the information on LyteLoad's servers, email lytevisionstudios@gmail.com and we will delete it within 30 days.
Children
LyteLoad is a business tool and is not meant for children under 13.
